Head Teacher
DEBBIE MCGURK
Hi, my name is Debbie McGurk and I am Head Teacher at Epsom Community Crèche. I am a qualified, fully registered teacher with a Bachelor of Education – Teaching (Early Childhood) from Auckland University. I completed my degree in 2007 and worked for two years at St Lukes Crèche before starting work here at Epsom Community Crèche in November 2009. I love working at the Crèche, getting to know the children and playing a small part in their early education. I have a daughter who is working and a son who is at university. I enjoy spending time with my children, my friends and family, being involved in sports and fitness and reading a good book.

My teaching philosophy is underpinned by my love of nature, belief in a strongcommunity Montessori background, and the importance of our children’s earliestyears. Epsom Community Creche shares these values and I love being part of ourCreche.Outside of creche I spend my time trail running with my family or on the side-line ofmy three children’s many sporting activities!
Teacher
ROSE
My name is Rose and I'm excited to be part of the Epsom Community Creche team. The amazing way my children learnt and engaged with the world around them took me on my own journey of discovery and learning. I went on to study at Auckland University for my Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (teaching) graduating in 2007. My experiences have deepened my understanding of how children learn through play, the value of giving them time to experiment, try out their ideas, explore and challenge themselves in multiple ways. As a teacher I am privileged to share these learning moments and have the opportunity to teach, support, guide, observe and actively listen to children as they play with a collaborative teaching team and involved whanau.
